Drago dell'Etna
Blood Orange Gin
Technical data sheet
Description
Drago Dell'Etna gin with blood orange is an aromatic variant of the traditional gin, characterised by the infusion of blood orange peel and aromatic botanical notes.
Drago dell'Etna
One of the oldest legends in Greek-Italian mythology tells that Her Majesty Etna, daughter of the primeval gods who forged the world, harboured a monstrous creature.
At birth, this creature was destined by Mother Earth to a relentless struggle against Zeus, who imprisoned it in the bowels of the mountain itself.
Hence came the impetuous fury of Typhon, known as the personification of the underworld.
A creature in the guise of a giant beast with a hundred dragon heads who, out of his pain and affliction, spits fire and lava and at every attempt to free himself from this eternal condemnation, unleashes terrible earthquakes.
The "Etna Dragon" gin is inspired by the 4 natural elements:
Water
Air
Earth
Fire
So, like Typhon and his connection with Mother Earth, with every taste you will be inebriated, creating a bond with each sip that will release ardour and excitement, enveloped in flavours and aromatic herbs to make the experience pleasant and unforgettable.
Organoleptic characteristics
Taste
Vibrant and fresh aromatic profile, with main notes of sweet and slightly bitter citrus fruits. Aromas of juniper and other botanicals create a balance, making the taste complex and refreshing.
Colour
Bright and eye-catching, with a vivid orange colour, making it easily recognisable and attractive in cocktails.
Density
In general, gin has a relatively low density, similar to that of other spirits. However, the presence of essential oils from blood orange can impart a slight viscosity to the liquid.
Production process
- Selection of Ingredients: High-quality juniper and spices and fresh blood orange peel are used.
- Infusion: The blood orange peels are left to infuse in the gin for varying lengths of time, allowing the essential oils and flavours to transfer into the distillate.
- Distillation: After infusion, the mixture is distilled again, concentrating the flavours and purifying the liquid.
- Filtering and Bottling: The gin is filtered to remove any solid particles and then bottled.
Combinations
Drago Dell'Etna blood orange gin is versatile and can be paired with:
- Cocktails: Perfect for refreshing cocktails such as gin and tonic, but also in mixes with soda, grapefruit tonic water or other citrus drinks.
- Food: Pairs well with fish dishes, sliced meats, fresh cheeses and citrus and cream-based desserts.
Drago dell'Etna gin with blood orange is an excellent choice for those looking for an aromatic and refreshing distillate, perfect for a variety of occasions.
